McPherson Center for Health is seeking an Information Systems Tech to maintain the health of the computer network infrastructure and support staff with tier I help desk services. The role covers network security, device deployment, AD account management, and EHR-related issue escalation.

The position requires flexible hours, on-call rotation, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure reliable information systems and patient data protection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; professional certifications as appropriate.
• Practical understanding of scripting (PowerShell, VB, and/or batch).
• Knowledge of MS Office and Windows; strong customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set up, patch, and deploy PCs, applications, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
• Connect networked devices to wired/wireless networks and troubleshoot basic networking issues.
• Manage new employee user accounts in Active Directory, domain architecture, badging software, and software-specific accounts.
• Triages and manages help desk tickets and user support requests.
• Provide Tier I problem resolution and routine troubleshooting per SLAs.
• Perform complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches, and reinstallations per standards.
• Communicate frequently during issue resolution and follow through to closure.
• Be on-call for after-hours system support (cell phone notification).
• Collaborate with Nurse analysts to identify EHR issues and escalate tickets as needed.
• Identify system modifications to reduce user problems and improve processes.
• Analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions within standards.
• Interpret guidelines and adapt processes to changing circumstances.
• Non-routine analysis and research may be required; may act as resource to others.
• Other duties as assigned.

Maintains overall health of computer network infrastructure. Monitors and maintains server/network traffic, network administration, firewalls, routers, switches, VPN, encryption, remote access, authentication, DNS, FTP, anti-virus, voice and data telecommunications, storage area networks, etc.

Information Systems Tech Essential Accountabilities:

• Responsible for setup, patching, and deployment of PCs, applications, printers, scanners, and miscellaneous personal devices such as smartphones.
• Connect networkable devices to wired and wireless networks and troubleshoot basic networking problems.

Information Systems Tech Knowledge/Skills:

• High school Diploma/GED
• Professional certifications as appropriate.
• Practical understanding of scripting to include PowerShell, VB, and/or batch.
• Knowledge of current trends in the specific field.
• Demonstrated experience with standard software applications, including MS Office, Windows. Must have a strong dedication to customer service.

Information Systems Tech Working Conditions:

• Work requires ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Work may require moderate physical exertion and/or physical strain.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
• Ability to work under stress during peak workload periods.
• Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements.
• OSHA Category 3 – Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues or other potentially infectious materials
