Job summary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks an Information Technology Specialist to lead logistics data integration efforts, coordinate IPT activities, and develop interfaces for DLMS-compliant data exchanges. The role requires deep technical skills in XML, data interfaces and DLMS modernization, plus a U.S.

passport-ready citizenship and a Secret clearance. The successful candidate will oversee schedules, meetings, and coordination among internal and external stakeholders,

Qualifications

  • 10 years of IT automation and logistics interfacing experience required.
  • Hands-on software/data interface development experience.
  • Experience leading IPT discussions and coordinating engineers.
  • Understanding of DLMS routing and transitioning MILS to XML.
  • U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Information Technology Specialist will provide support to the Logistics Management Division (LMD) Chief for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems. The incumbent will act as the technical lead for logistics data integration, engineering software interfaces and exporting critical system data to ensure interoperability across disparate DoD networks.They will coordinate the UAS Integrated Product Team (IPT), develop schedules, track progress, keep meeting minutes/notes, adjudicate comments between internal and external stakeholders. They will be required to maintain cognizance of deadlines and take appropriate action to complete tasks in time to accommodate review schedules. Recognize issues, propose or jointly develop corrective action, and keep the LOG Chief informed. Provide briefings, presentations, and written reports to leadership, management, and peers. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs such as, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams etc.

The Information Technology Specialist should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate an Integrated Product Team (IPT), develop schedules, track progress, keep meeting minutes/notes, and adjudicate comments between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and maintain XML schemas and data export interfaces to ensure seamless logistics data interoperability between internal databases and external partner systems.
  • Architect system-to-system data exchanges and translate legacy logistics data into compliant Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) transaction formats (e.g., DLMS XML/EDI).
  • Leverage technical and logistics experience in reviewing contractor proposals with a focus on identifying potential product support impacts. Recognize issues, propose or jointly develop corrective actions, and keep the PSM informed.
  • Provide briefings, presentations, and written reports to leadership, management and peers.

Experience and Skills

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • At least 10 years of IT Automation and Logistics Application Interfacing experience in a United States Army Project Offices or supporting LCMCs required.
  • Highly Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on experience in software/data interface development, including writing XML, parsing data payloads, and configuring data export/import routines between heterogeneous systems.
  • Participation in technical Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings or coordinating with engineers and technical staff.
  • Coordinates the efforts of lower level or project engineers for assigned projects or systems.
  • Ability to evaluate performance and operating characteristics against costs and development risks.
  • Can conduct technical reviews in area of technical expertise.
  • Can develop work plans and maintain day-to-day technical interface with project personnel and ensures compliance with applicable standards.
  • Ability to lead technical efforts in the concept formulation, project planning, and project engineering. May alternatively organize and lead similar test instrumentation efforts.
  • Evaluate systems design and architecture.
  • US citizenship is required
  • Current Secret Security Clearance
    • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
    • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
    • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
    • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
    • Experience working in a DOD field
    • Microsoft Office 365 Tools
  • Deep understanding of Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) routing, transaction sets, and modernizing legacy Military Standard Systems (MILS) into XML architectures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of related systems engineering with a BA/BS Degree or 8 years in systems engineering experience and a master’s degree in computer science
