Olympic Steel is seeking an Information Technology/Operations Support Associate to help maintain smooth operations at our Plymouth, MN facility. The role focuses on placing and tracking purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and serving as the first point of contact for drivers and vendors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing administrative role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible in workday tasks.
  • Understands business systems software functionality.
  • Maintains document flow for the division.
  • Responsible for set up and troubleshooting all PC equipment for new and existing users.
  • Hosts employee education sessions as needed for business software systems.
  • Implements programs, projects or other initiatives as directed.

Job Description:

The Operations Support Associate is responsible for supporting the overall operations and production of the division. The Operations Support Associate is responsible for placing and tracking purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and will act as the first point of contact for drivers and vendors. Additionally, this person will support warehouse inventory, ensuring that the steel is received properly. The Operations Support Associate will assist with pulling traffic paperwork during audits. This position also serves as a liaison between divisional staff, the Controller and the MIS department. This person coordinates administrative function and local MIS issue resolution.

Pay Range: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing administrative role preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory systems.
