Job summary

ClearEdge seeks an experienced Information Security Officer to strengthen the security posture of complex DoD information systems in a mission-driven environment. You will guide policy, coordinate across programs, and uphold rigorous security standards to protect classified information.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in DoD security frameworks, CMMC, and DoD 8570 IAT-level compliance, with a track record of responsible decision-making and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years as an ISSO on similar programs.
• Experience with security tools, implementations, or encryption techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate IT security programs and policies across info systems.
• Manage system changes and assess security impact.
• Support C&A per ODNI/DoD policies.
• Maintain security posture and day-to-day operations.
• Ensure security solutions meet classified processing requirements.
• Administer identification and authentication for IS.
• Maintain records for infrastructure and system upgrades.
• Provide CM for security-relevant software/hardware/firmware.
• Assist with security policy implementations and documentation.

You Will Excel In The Role If You Are

• A detail‑oriented security professional who takes ownership of maintaining and improving the operational security posture of complex information systems

A Day In The Life Consists Of

• Planning and coordinating IT security programs and policies across assigned information systems
• Managing and controlling system changes and assessing their security impact
• Supporting the certification and accreditation (C&A) process in accordance with ODNI and DoD policies
• Maintaining operational security posture and performing day‑to‑day security operations
• Evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for processing classified information
• Administering user identification and authentication mechanisms for assigned Information Systems (IS)
• Maintaining records on workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, intelligent hubs, network switches, and other infrastructure, including system upgrades
• Providing configuration management (CM) for security‑relevant software, hardware, and firmware
• Supporting senior ISSOs with implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies
• Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of security documentation

Must Haves

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or a related technical field from an accredited university
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Experience in at least one of the following: knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, or encryption techniques/tools
• DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Systems Technical (IAT), Level 1 or higher
• Knowledge of basic networking fundamentals
• Experience with NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171
• Active or current TS/SCI Polygraph clearance, OR the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Access
• Experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements, implementation, or compliance programs

Nice To Have

• Experience supporting multiple programs or enclaves simultaneously
• Familiarity with ODNI‑specific C&A documentation requirements
• Prior experience serving as an Approval Authority for classified information systems
• Advanced DoD 8570 certifications (IAT Level II or III, or IASAE)
• Experience with cloud security or hybrid environment security operations
