Job summary

Future Technologies Inc. seeks an experienced ISSO to oversee security, testing, and accreditation for Navy Simulation Systems.

You will apply IT security principles, configure security settings across Windows/Linux/Desktops, perform weekly audits, and coordinate with government agencies for approvals. Responsibilities include portfolio assessments, security package reviews, continuous monitoring, policy implementation, and DIACAP/RMF/FISMA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain additional accesses.
  • 4+ years of direct information systems security experience.
  • DOD 8570.1-M IAM Level II; CISSP or GSLC preferred.
  • Experience with NIST SP 800-34 and large organization networks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with the Government ISSM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support for system security by assessing the system portfolio and prioritizing accreditation per policy.
  • Review security packages and Accreditation status.
  • Provide continuous security monitoring of assigned systems.
  • Advise on overall management and evaluation of system security posture.
  • Audit and enforce security policies for the Federal Agency customer.
  • Assist in documentation and accreditation per NIST/FISMA standards.
  • Liaise with Government ISSM and other leaders.
  • Contribute to COOP/DR policy implementation.
  • Ensure training and exercise plans align with DR/COOP requirements.
  • Coordinate across organization to ensure team participation.

Complete weekly system audits and conduct media reviews as directed by the Government ISSM. Develop and implement government approved information security procedures and plans for the operation of multiple networked and standalone classified computers, and coordinate government agency approvals. Consult on the design, development, integration, and analysis of classified computing systems with the Government ISSM. Conduct self-inspection reviews. Conduct comprehensive investigation of computer security incidents, coordinating with other organizations for expertise.

Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide guidance and support for system security by performing complete assessments of the system portfolio, determine priority of systems that need to be accredited per policy, and ensure prompt compliance.
  • Reviews system security packages and Accreditation status
  • Provides continuous security monitoring of assigned systems
  • Provide advice and insight into the overall management and evaluation of the system security posture
  • Audit and enforce security policies and standards for the Federal Agency customer.
  • Assist in documentation and accreditation of systems governed by NIST standards and FISMA regulations.
  • Liaison with the Government ISSM and other leaders
  • Contribute to policy implementation as it relates to COOP and DR
  • Ensure that Emergency Response Leadership is informed of relevant training and exercise activities and metrics
  • Coordinate across organization to ensure that all team members participate as needed
  • Work with Security Training and Exercise Leadership to ensure team members are prepared with appropriate action plans for DR/COOP
  • Ensure policy application and regulatory compliance leadership in accordance with Federal guidance, including FIPS Publication 200, NIST SP 800-18, SP 800-37, SP 800-53, SP 800-53A and SP 800-60
  • Supports continuous monitoring of Privacy concerns
  • Supports the following program areas, as required:
  • Risk Management
  • Security operations
  • Emergency Response
  • Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations
  • IT investigations, digital forensics, eDiscovery
  • Quality and Compliance
  • Threat Intelligence
  • Security Training and Exercise Management
Requirements
  • DOD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAM Level II; CISSP or GSLC preferred
  • MUST have an active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain additional security accesses.
  • Extensive experience with application of standards and guidelines, such as NIST SP 800-34
  • 4+ years of direct experience managing Information Systems Security
  • Experience with large organization networks
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, policy development, and policy enforcement
  • Direct experience performing security engineering, system integration, network engineering
  • Experience in the roles identified above
  • 4+ years of experience applying DIACAP, RMF, FISMA or similar Information Assurance standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Active Secret security clearance

The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,000 to $140,000.
