Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks an Information Systems Security Officer to support USPACOM J6 enterprise IT, cyber operations, and mission partner interoperability at JBPH-H in Hawaii.

You will assess security posture, support RMF, coordinate with engineering and mission teams, and prepare technical documentation to map risk to actionable objectives.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience (can substitute 5 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
• 8+ years of relevant experience supporting the role, mission area, or enterprise IT environment (or 13+ years without a degree)
• Active Top Secret clearance
• Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, technical writing, customer engagement, and coordination across teams
• DoD 8570/8140-aligned cybersecurity certification or comparable professional certification

Responsibilities

• Assess security posture, track control implementation, and coordinate remediation with engineering and operations teams.
• Support RMF documentation, security control validation, POA&M management, and audit readiness activities.
• Map cyber terrain and communicate risk mitigation strategies that support mission while maximizing defendability.
• Collaborate with USPACOM J6 stakeholders, service components, mission partners, and GDIT team members to resolve technical challenges.
• Prepare clear technical documentation, briefings, status inputs, and recommendations mapping risk to objectives.

GDIT is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer to support USPACOM J6 Cybersecurity activities at JBPH-H, helping modernize enterprise IT capabilities and strengthen mission partner interoperability across the Pacific.

How the Information Systems Security Officer Will Make an Impact

• Assess security posture, track control implementation, and coordinate remediation with engineering and operations teams.
• Support RMF documentation, security control validation, POA&M management, and audit readiness activities.
• Work with engineering teams and system owners to map cyber terrain and communicate risk mitigation strategies that support mission while maximizing defendability.
• Collaborate with USPACOM J6 stakeholders, service components, mission partners, and GDIT team members to resolve technical challenges.
• Understand mission imperatives and communication of risk acceptance when necessary
• Work with USPACOM and external agency cyber analysis teams to understand emerging threats and mitigation measures. Prepare clear technical documentation, briefings, status inputs, and recommendations that map risk to actionable objectives.
• Understand how SIEM/SOAR are integrated into operational environments
• Support cybersecurity engineering, RMF, and security compliance activities for USPACOM J6 enterprise environments.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Education:B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience (can substitute 5 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
• Required Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience supporting the role, mission area, or equivalent DoW/enterprise IT environment (or 13+ years of experience without a degree)
• Required Technical Skills: ISSO duties; RMF package support; security controls assessment; POA&M tracking; audit readiness; DoW cybersecurity policy.
• Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret.
• Required Skills and Abilities: Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, technical writing, customer engagement, and ability to coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and mission partner teams.
• Preferred Skills: Experience supporting USPACOM, combatant command, service component, or joint/coalition mission environments. Experience working in government site environments and coordinating with military and civilian stakeholders. DoW 8570/8140-aligned cybersecurity certification or comparable professional certification. Experience as an active member of a penetration testing team in an engineering role. Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
• Location: On customer site at JBPH-H.
