Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks an Information Systems Security Officer to support USPACOM J6 cybersecurity activities at JBPH-H, modernizing enterprise IT and strengthening mission partner interoperability across the Pacific. You will lead RMF activities, security controls assessment, and POA&M management while coordinating with engineering, operations, and mission partners.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in the role or equivalent DoW/enterprise IT environment.
• 5 years of experience substitution allowed in lieu of a degree.
• RMF package support and security controls assessment required.
• DoW cybersecurity policy knowledge and audit readiness experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support cybersecurity engineering, RMF, and security compliance activities.
• Assess security posture, track control implementation, and coordinate remediation.
• Support RMF documentation, POA&M management, and audit readiness.
• Partner with engineers and system owners to identify and reduce cybersecurity risk.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and brief leadership.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and briefings for customers and leadership.

How the Information Systems Security Officer Will Make an Impact

• Support cybersecurity engineering, RMF, and security compliance activities for USPACOM J6 enterprise environments.
• Assess security posture, track control implementation, and coordinate remediation with engineering and operations teams.
• Support RMF documentation, security control validation, POA&M management, and audit readiness activities.
• Partner with engineers and system owners to identify, communicate, and reduce cybersecurity risk.
• Collaborate with USPACOM J6 stakeholders, service components, mission partners, and GDIT team members to resolve technical challenges.
• Prepare clear technical documentation, briefings, status inputs, and recommendations for customer and internal leadership.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Education: B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience (can substitute 5 years of experience in lieu of a degree)
• Required Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience supporting the role, mission area, or equivalent DoW/enterprise IT environment (or 13+ years of experience without a degree)
• Required Technical Skills: ISSO duties; RMF package support; security controls assessment; POA&M tracking; audit readiness; DoW cybersecurity policy.
• Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret.
• Required Skills and Abilities: Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, technical writing, customer engagement, and ability to coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and mission partner teams.
• Preferred Skills: Experience supporting USPACOM, combatant command, service component, or joint/coalition mission environments. Experience working in government site environments and coordinating with military and civilian stakeholders. DoW 8570/8140-aligned cybersecurity certification or comparable professional certification.
• Location: On customer site at JBPH-H.
