Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to join our cyber and IT risk management team in Tysons Corner, VA, onsite. You will support RMF workflows, review access requests, and coordinate A&A activities through Authority to Operate (ATO).

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of related experience, a TS/SCI with active polygraph, and a CASP+ certification; knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53/53A, and STIGs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• CASP+ certification required.
• 8+ years of related experience.
• Experience with RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-53/53A, and STIGs.
• Strong documentation skills; experience with ServiceNow, Tenable, and SCAP tools.
• TS/SCI with active polygraph clearance.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support RMF workflow and enforce information system security policies.
• Review access requests and authorizations.
• Evaluate the impact of system changes using RMF and approve changes.
• Manage multiple A&A projects through ATO.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to mitigate vulnerabilities via POA&Ms.
• Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 controls and related standards.
• Maintain configuration management for security software, hardware and firmware.
• Ensure system recovery processes are documented and tested for security integrity.
• Keep security documentation current and accessible to authorized personnel.
• Notify relevant parties when changes affect authorization.
• Participate in governance and project reviews.
• Maintain documentation of policies and procedures.
• Conduct internal RMF compliance audits.
• Demonstrated RMF/ICD 503/CNSSI 1253/NIST 800-53/53A/STIGs experience.

HOW AN ISSM WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Support customer RMF workflow and processes by proposing, coordinating, implementing and enforcing information system security policies, instructions, standards, and methodologies
• Review and approve customer requests related to accesses, devices, and other authorizations
• Evaluate the impact of network and system changes using RMF processes and approve the changes
• Manage multiple projects throughout Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) process from concept to Authority to Operate (ATO)
• Coordinate with system stakeholders on mitigating system vulnerabilities outlined in POA&Ms
• Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 controls and relevant cybersecurity standards
• Ensure configuration management for security-relevant IS software, hardware and firmware is maintained and documented
• Ensure system recovery processes are monitored to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored
• Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals
• Formally notify the appropriate individuals when changes occur that might affect authorization
• Participate in governance and project reviews identified by the customer
• Require strong documentation skills to create and update policies, process documentation and procedures
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with RMF requirements
• Demonstrated experience with RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-53/53A, and STIGs

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education : Bachelors (Computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline)
• Required Certification : CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)
• Required Experience : 8+ yrs
• Required Technical Skills :
• Require strong documentation skills to create and update policies, process documentation and procedures
• Experience with ServiceNow, Tenable, and other SCAP Compliant tools
• Demonstrated experience with RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-53/53A, and STIGs

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
