Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a Senior Cyber Security - ISSM in Dayton, OH to shape cybersecurity strategy, RMF compliance, and continuous monitoring from development through fielding.

The role represents the customer as an experienced Information Security professional, integrating security requirements, ensuring compliance, and supporting RMF activities across PIT and ground support systems.

Qualifications

• Must meet DoD 8140/8570 IAM II certification requirements.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience working in a DoD program or product acquisition office environment.
• Have at least 3 years’ experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment within the last five years.
• Master of Arts/Master of Science/Master of Engineering preferred; years of experience may substitute.
• U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity strategy, RMF implementation, and continuous monitoring for PIT and PIT‑CS systems.
• Integrate security requirements into system design, development, upgrades, and operational processes.
• Advise Information System Owners and security leadership on system impact levels, risk posture, and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
• Assess threats, vulnerabilities, and system changes; recommend, implement, and validate appropriate security controls.
• Review, approve, and oversee RMF documentation including SSPs, SCTMs, assessment procedures, SARs, and POA&Ms.
• Conduct, verify, and document security assessments, ensuring accuracy and readiness for authorization.
• Prepare and submit full system authorization packages and provide written authorization recommendations to the AO.
• Apply secure architecture, engineering, coding, and configuration principles across all phases of system development and operation.
• Support teams developing new systems or upgrading legacy systems with expert cybersecurity guidance.
• Identify and resolve integration challenges from new capabilities entering existing infrastructures.
• Stay informed on emerging security technologies, threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.

Job description

MTSI is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cyber Security - Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in Dayton, OH. This senior role is responsible for shaping and managing cybersecurity strategy, Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, and continuous monitoring from concept and development through production and fielding until the system is transitioned to a separate sustainment team.

The successful candidate will represent the customer as an experienced Information Security Professional, executing ISSM responsibilities for both PIT and ground support equipment. This includes defining, refining, and integrating cybersecurity requirements; ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and directives; and independently supporting the program office across all RMF activities.

Qualifications

• Must meet Cybersecurity (DoD 8140/8570 – IAM Level II) certification requirements
• Possess minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience
• Experience working in a DoD program or product acquisition office or environment
• Have no less than three (3) years’ experience in a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environment within the last five (5) years
• A Master of Arts/Master of Science/Master of Engineering MA/MS/ME degree (Years of experience may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree)
• U.S. Citizenship
