Job summary

Palantir Technologies is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to maintain secure, resilient, and compliant IT environments for USG facilities. You will balance security, compliance, and functionality while supporting DoD operations, leveraging Windows and Linux systems engineering expertise.

The role emphasizes automation, collaboration with ISSMs and engineers, and ensuring scalable security across our infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Active US TOP SECRET security clearance is required.
  • Intermediate level ISSM IAM Level 2 certification (DOD 8140/8570).
  • Certification such as Linux+ or CCNA welcomed.
  • At least 1 year of technical role experience at an accredited USG facility.
  • Proficiency with Windows administration tasks: AD, DNS, GPO, SCCM/MDT.
  • Practical automation experience with Powershell and Python.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge engineering and compliance collaboration across technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Scale infrastructure with automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with ISSMs, Engineers, FSOs, and stakeholders for consistent USG facilities solutions.
  • Integrate new hardware and software into USG infrastructure.
  • Manage relationships with upstream vendors and sponsors.
  • Apply STIGs/SRGs to OS and applications, interface with auditors.

The Role

Palantir's effectiveness in the US Government (USG) space depends on our ability to maintain secure, resilient, and compliant IT environments. As an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) with a strong IT technical foundation, you will be responsible for both security management technical administration of our USG facilities. You will balance compliance requirements with functionality, ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and supports mission-critical DoD operations. Our ideal candidate combines deep expertise in Windows and Linux systems engineering with a strong understanding of government security frameworks, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and user-friendly environments.

Core Responsibilities
  • Bridge engineering and compliance collaboration, delivering a holistic perspective to address both technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Scale our infrastructure by creatively implementing automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with your fellow ISSMs, Engineers, FSOs, and broader business stakeholders to provide consistent solutions to all of our facilities.
  • Integrate new hardware and software technologies into our USG infrastructure.
  • Manage relationships with upstream vendors and sponsors.
  • Apply STIGs/SRGs to operating systems and applications, ensuring compliance with DoD standards. Interface with auditors, appropriately articulating our security and compliance posture.
  • Manage our SIEM to build reports and visualizations to ensure monitoring, alerting, and auditing requirements are met.
  • Manage DoD cyber security tools such as Endpoint Security Solutions, ACAS, STIGs, and SCAP.
  • Understand end-user challenges and deliver secure, scalable solutions.

What We Require
  • Active US TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Intermediate level foundational certification ISSM(722) (per DOD 8140), in 8570 this was known as IAM Level 2 certification.
  • Active Computing Environmental certification such as Linux+, CCNA, or other.
  • At least 1 years experience in a technical role (user support, technical compliance, system administration, etc.) at an accredited USG facility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant Windows administration tasks including AD, DNS, Group Policy, and SCCM/MDT.
  • Practical experience with automation tools, including Powershell and Python.
Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $100,000 - $174,000/year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by each individual's relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any potential sign-on bonus; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.
