Job summary

The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor is seeking motivated interns to join the Information Systems Audit team in Raleigh for Spring 2027. You will evaluate information system risks, review IT controls, analyze data, and support audit procedures across state agencies and related government entities.

This internship is designed to provide practical, real-world experience and mentorship, with opportunities for professional development and an honorary Merritt Intern recognition.

Qualifications

Rising senior or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Basic understanding of business processes, information systems, IT controls, and cybersecurity concepts.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis tools, databases, and data visualization tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with evaluating information system risks and IT controls.
Support audit procedures on systems and applications used by state agencies.
Contribute to data analysis and reporting for audit engagements.
