Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, DC, is seeking an Information System Security Officer, Mid, to help protect national mission systems. You will work with government agencies to assess cyber risks, understand applicable policies, and help develop mitigation plans with SMEs, engineers, and System Owners.

You will translate security concepts for clients, present plans of action with milestones, and support cloud security efforts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of information security experience including system security or ISSO responsibilities.
• Experience with RMF system authorization activities (steps 1-4).
• Experience creating and maintaining A&A documentation (FIPS-199, SSPs, POA&M, SARs).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, M365, SaaS) and related security controls.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and FISMA.
• Knowledge of system architecture, security controls, and secure lifecycle practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

In all of this “cyber noise,” how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is you. We need your knowledge as an information security risk spe cia list to help break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.

As an information security risk spe cia list on our team, you’ll work with government agencies to discover their cyber risks, understand applicable policies , and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll get technical and personnel details from SMEs, engineers, and System Owners to assess the entire threat landscape. Then, you’ll help your team guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, white papers, and milestones.

You Have

• 5+ years of experience in information security, including system security, compliance, or ISSO responsibilities
• Experience facilitating system authorization activities in accordance with steps 1-4 of the RMF
• Experience creating and maintaining A & A documentation such as FIPS-199, SSPs, POA & Ms, and SARs
• Experience with cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure, M365, and SaaS applications, and asso cia ted security controls
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST SP 800-53, Risk Management Framework ( RMF ) , and FISMA
• Knowledge of system architecture, security controls, and secure system lifecycle practices to ensure controls are effectively designed and implemented across system environments
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex security requirements into actionable guidance
• Public Trust
• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have

• Experience with continuous monitoring tools and vulnerability management platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering field
• CISSP, CISM, CAP, Security+ or equivalent industry certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
