Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in McLean, VA to support customer activities. The role focuses on information assurance, RMF implementation, and cloud security across AWS and commercial platforms.

The ISSO will coordinate cyber security policies, maintain security postures, write SSPs and assessment documentation, and participate in risk management review boards. TS/SCI with active polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related discipline (Computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity)
• 8+ years of related experience
• Experience coordinating and implementing cyber security policies, standards and processes
• Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure, Commercial cloud and cloud security
• Understanding of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-37, RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253
• Strong written and oral communication skills to write technical analysis reports and security plans

Responsibilities

• Provide information assurance support to system(s) and program
• Coordinate and implement cyber security policies, standards and processes
• Maintain operational security posture through RMF for system(s) and ensure security procedures are followed
• Evaluate security solutions to meet requirements for processing classified information
• Prepare and review documentation including SSPs, C&A packages, architecture diagrams, contingency and incident response plans
• Support risk management review boards
• Perform vulnerability scanning and risk assessment using NIST 800-53 and POA&M
• Ensure understanding of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-37, RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253

HOW AN ISSO WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Provide information assurance support to system(s) and program
• Demonstrated experience with coordinating and implementing cyber security policies, standards and processes
• Maintain operational security posture for system(s) through customized Risk Management Framework (RMF) to ensure established security processes and procedures are followed
• Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure, Commercial cloud and cloud security
• Evaluate security solutions to ensure security requirements are met for processing classified information
• Provide configuration management and documentation for system software, hardware, networks, enclaves, etc.
• Prepare and review system documentation to include Systems Security Plans (SSPs), Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, architecture diagrams, contingency plan, incident response plan, and other documentation
• Support programmatic and organization project and risk management review boards
• Perform vulnerability scanning, risk assessment analysis using NIST 800-53 and prepare responses to Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
• Understanding of NIST 800-53, NIST 800-37, RMF, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253
• Strong written and oral communication skills to write technical analysis reports and security plans

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education : Bachelors (Computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline)
• Required Experience : 8+ yrs
• Preferred Technical Skills:
• Demonstrated experience with coordinating and implementing cyber security policies, standards and processes

The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $161,788. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
