Job summary

Agile Defense in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Mid to support FBI ISSO/ISSE program management. You will help develop and refine a methodology for categorizing FBI IT systems based on security, operations, and mission factors.

The ideal candidate holds a TS clearance, 5+ years in federal cybersecurity compliance, RMF, and risk management, with experience in documenting labor, cost recovery, and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity compliance, information assurance, ISSO support, or system security governance in a federal environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a documented methodology to categorize FBI IT systems based on classification level, FBI division supported, National Security System designation, and other criteria.
• Apply the methodology across assigned systems in accordance with task order timelines.
• Ensure methodology aligns with FIPS-199, NIST RMF, CNSS policies, and FBI directives.
• Analyze systems based on risk, operational impact, security posture, and required ISSO/ISSE support.
• Maintain documentation supporting system grouping decisions, labor mapping, and cost recovery reporting.
• Coordinate with program leadership, the COR, call order PM, and internal reviewers for transparency and defensibility.
• Support alignment of labor categories and seniority levels to systems based on complexity.
• Provide inputs for monthly reporting on labor allocation, chargeback, and cost recovery by system and FBI division.
• Assist with Monthly Statement Reports (MSRs) and cost detail preparation.
• Track changes to systems, policies, and org structures that affect categorization logic.
• Support updates to methodology and reporting workflows within required timeframes.
• Support ATO lifecycle activities, POA&M tracking, risk assessments, and audit readiness efforts.

Job Description

Agile Defense is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the FBI ISSO/ISSE Program Management. The ISSO will support the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of a methodology for categorizing and organizing FBI information technology systems based on security, operational, and mission-related factors.

This role will help ensure systems are consistently grouped according to attributes such as classification level, FIPS-199 categorization, hosting environment, CNSS 1253 overlays, data types, and business function. The ISSO will also support labor mapping, chargeback/cost recovery reporting, and documentation requirements associated with the call order.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in federal cybersecurity compliance, risk management, RMF, GRC tools, and stakeholder coordination in a complex, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• - Support alignment of labor categories and seniority levels to systems based on complexity and support requirements.

• - Support approved automation or semi-automated processes used for categorization, reporting, or labor/cost visibility in accordance with FBI requirements.

Education and Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity compliance, information assurance, ISSO support, or system security governance in a federal environment.

Required Skills

• -Active Top Secret clearance required.

• - Relevant certification(s), such as CISSP, CISM, CAP, Security+, or GSLC.

$120,000 - $135,000 a year
