Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Level 2

Position Summary

DarkStar Intelligence is seeking a highly skilled Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Level 2 to support cybersecurity initiatives in a classified environment. The ideal candidate will apply national security policies and cybersecurity frameworks to maintain and enhance the security posture of critical information systems. This role requires expertise in security compliance, risk assessment, and collaboration with security professionals to ensure adherence to evolving security standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply National level Security Policies including the Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503 and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 Series, to attain or maintain a security posture for an information system.
  • Apply Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) Instruction No.1253 to attain or maintain a security posture for an information system.
  • Communicate and interact with Security Control Assessor (SCA) and Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) regarding security posture of an information system.
  • Apply Information Security Policies, Standards, and methodologies to include the following NIST control families: Access Control, Audit and Accountability, Configuration Management and Incident Response Series to attain or maintain the security posture for an information system.
  • Evaluate technical solutions and proposed changes to a system for compliance with security requirements and controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Information Technology Discipline with four (4) years of work experience in any combination of: System Administrator (SA), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), Information System Security Engineer (ISSE), Information Technology (IT) Service Desk, Computer Network Defense (CND) Analyst, Telecommunication Technician, and Network Administration.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I is required.

Salary Range

$180,000- $190,000. This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of specific compensation or salary. When extending an offer, DarkStar Intelligence considers various factors, including (but not limited to) the job's responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, market data alignment, applicable bargaining agreements (if any), and other relevant laws.
