Job summary

Qualis LLC is seeking an Information System Security Officer to support the 96 Test Wing contract at Eglin AFB, FL. You will advise on cybersecurity safeguards during system acquisitions and assist with IATT/ATO tasks, monitoring security posture with automation tools.

The role requires a DoD cybersecurity certification, DoD knowledge, and an active Secret clearance. Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential for interfacing with technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with 0–3 years’ experience; education may be substituted with government approval.
• Must meet DoD Directive 8140-M for Information Assurance Manager Level 1 (e.g., Security+ CE).
• Know-how in cybersecurity requirements, and DoD network security.
• Experience with DISA STIGs, SCC, STIG Viewer, Host Based Security System, and ACAS is preferred.
• Experience developing SOPs and SSPs.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows.
• Basic understanding of Windows PowerShell and Python scripting.
• Basic understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP, Layer 2 and Layer 3.
• Familiarity with IT hardware/software and peripherals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisory and assistance services for cybersecurity safeguards during system acquisition.
• Assist ISSMs with IATT and ATO initial and recurring tasks.
• Conduct, analyze, and report cybersecurity continuous monitoring results using automation tools.
• Interpret and implement applicable DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Maintain DoD Workforce Systems Security Analyst certifications (e.g., intermediate or higher).
• Assist COR in information system assessments to verify contract requirements.
• Assist ISSM in risk assessments and mitigations to reduce residual risk.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Information System Security Officer

Eglin Air Force Base, FL, US

Qualis LLC is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the 96 Test Wing contract under the Air force Division located at Eglin AFB, FL.

• Provide advisory and assistance services in support of the implementation of cybersecurity safeguards while developing, coordinating, and implementing short- and long-term strategies during system acquisition activities.
• Assist ISSMs in performing, assessing, reporting, and managing Interim Authority to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO) initial and recurring authorization tasks.
• Conduct, analyze, and report the results of cybersecurity continuous monitoring activities using automation tools for system configuration management (Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)), vulnerability management, and endpoint security.
• Interpret and implement all applicable cybersecurity policies, instructions, and procedures IAW current DoD, DAF, 96 Test Wing, 96 Range Group, and Squadron guidance.
• Achieves and maintains DoD Workforce Systems Security Analyst Intermediate or higher cybersecurity certification(s) (e.g., Security+, Network+, Cloud, CCSP, etc.).
• Assist the government cybersecurity Contract Officer Representative (COR) in conducting information system assessments to verify delivery of contract requirements.
• Assist the ISSM in conducting risk assessments and identifying applicable mitigations to reduce the residual cybersecurity risk associated with known vulnerabilities.
• They need to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant field with 0-3 years’ experience. Experience may be substituted for education with government approval.
• Certification: Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DOD Directive 8140-M for Information Assurance Manager Level 1. (i.e., Security + CE certification)
• Knowledge and expertise in Cybersecurity requirements, network technologies, and computer security as applied to Department of Defense (DoD) networks
• Experience with DISA STIGs, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), STIG Viewer, Host Base Security System, and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution is preferred
• Experience developing SOPs and SSPs
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows
• Basic understanding of Windows PowerShell and Python scripting
• Basic understanding of DNS, DHCP, TCP, UDP, Layer 2 and Layer 3
• Familiarity/proficiency with processes and functions, information technology hardware and software products, as well as, computer peripherals (e.g. printers, monitors, hard drives, docking stations, scanners, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities required.
• An active Secret clearance

• JSIG experience is desired
