Job summary

VetRamp is seeking an Information Assurance/Security Specialist – Level II for roles requiring a Secret clearance. The candidate will support C&A activities and assist in preparing documentation to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO) for systems and environments.

Minimum education is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with four years of progressive security experience. Candidates should be familiar with NIST and DoD IA certification processes and related tools and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalency.
• Four (4) years of progressive security experience.
• IAT III and IAM III certifications per DoD 8570.01-M requirements.

Responsibilities

• Specialized in the analysis or application of system security practices within an organization/agency.
• Assists the system owner and ISSO in developing and writing certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation packages to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Follows NIST and DoD IA certification and Accreditation Process standards; familiar with commonly used tools, concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.

Job description

Title: Information Assurance/Security Specialist – Level II

Investigation Required: Tier 3 (Secret Clearance)

Certifications: IAT III and IAM III (Please see Section 3.0 Commercial Certificates for DoD 8570.01-M certificate requirement); CE: Associate level (professional preferred) certificate for supported technology as approved by the COR.

Experience:Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.

Responsibility:Specialized in the analysis or application of system security practices within an organization/agency. Assists the system owner and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in varies aspects in developing and writing certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation packages included in the process of helping an organization/agency obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO) on its systems and/or environment. Follows National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and/or Department of Defense IA Certification and Accreditation Process standards in performance of job functions. Familiar with commonly used tools, concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field.
