Job summary

STARPLUS ENERGY LLC seeks an Information Security Specialist to oversee global and local security management systems. You will ensure regulatory compliance, protect IT and facility infrastructure, and coordinate with HQ and Korean authorities to prevent data leaks.

The role includes incident response, KNCT framework implementation, security education, audits, and coordination with external security providers. Travel is limited but possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in any major.
• Fluency in Korean and English (verbal and written).
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Proficiency with computer operation and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and operate corporate information security systems for facility and IT infrastructure protection.
• Establish incident response procedures and maintain readiness against security threats.
• Develop and operate the site’s physical security management system, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection.
• Manage external security providers to ensure performance and contract compliance.
• Support vendor performance evaluations, documentation, and corrective actions.
• Define and enforce information protection policies and procedures.
• Establish a security framework for KNCT compliance and protect related data.
• Coordinate security education and training for employees.
• Develop incident response systems for data or technology leakage.
• Support audits and inspections by Korean government and SDI Headquarters.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and implement corrective actions.

Position Summary:
The Information Security Specialist supports the planning, implementation, and operation of StarPlus Energy’s global and local security management systems. This position ensures compliance with international and Korean security regulations, establishes physical and IT infrastructure security systems, and coordinates with both corporate headquarters and Korean government authorities to prevent information leaks and respond to potential security threats.

• Plan, develop, and operate corporate information security systems for facility and IT infrastructure protection
• Establish incident response procedures and maintain readiness against internal and external security threats
• Develop and operate the site’s physical security management system, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection system
• Manage and oversee external security service providers (e.g., physical security guards, monitoring services, and system maintenance vendors) to sure proper performance and contract compliance
• Support vendor performance evaluations, documentation, and corrective actions when service issues arise
• Define and enforce information protection policies and procedures to ensure consistent implementation across the organization
• Establish and operate a security management framework for Korean National Core Technology (KNCT) compliance
• Assign protection grades, define and manage secure communication systems, and safeguard all data and documentation related to KNCT
• Coordinate and conduct security education and training for employees
• Develop and maintain incident response systems to address potential data or technology leakage
• Support internal and external security audits and inspections from Korean government and SDI Headquarters
• Perform security infrastructure vulnerability assessments and implement corrective actions as needed
• Prepare technical report, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other documentation required for compliance and audit response
• Perform other position related duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

Basic:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in any major
• Proficiency in computer operation and Microsoft Office Suite
• Fluency in both Korean and English (verbal and written)
• Strong attention to detail and high ethical standards
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred:

• Experience in IT infrastructure security, data protection, or compliance management
• Knowledge of Korean National Core Technology (KNCT) security regulations and procedures
• Experience in ERP systems, or equivalent

Working Conditions:

• Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work around office and industrial environments
• Ability to wear appropriate PPE as required
• Requires occasional meetings or communication with global and Korean counterparts across time zones

$68,000-$89,000
