Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, prioritization, governance, and delivery of the enterprise Data Security portfolio, translating strategy and business requirements into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
• Lead and develop product and capability leaders, establishing clear accountability and enabling execution through the team.
• Drive business requirements, enablement, operational readiness, and sustainable adoption of data security capabilities.
• Build relationships with business leaders and partner across security, technology, data, risk, compliance, privacy, and legal teams to align priorities, clarify requirements, communicate tradeoffs, and coordinate delivery.
• Establish portfolio governance, decision-making processes, executive reporting, success measures, and delivery metrics.
• Maintain an integrated portfolio view covering priorities, sequencing, dependencies, investments, capacity, operational risk, technology constraints, and expected outcomes.
• Identify delivery risks and obstacles, clarify ownership, and drive issues to resolution across organizational boundaries.
• Communicate portfolio strategy, progress, decisions, risks, and outcomes to senior leaders and governance forums.
• Drive coordination, accountability, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement across capability areas while preserving technical ownership within engineering and platform teams.

Position Overview

The Information Security Director - Data Security Portfolio Delivery translates enterprise data security strategy and business requirements into prioritized initiatives, measurable outcomes, and successfully delivered capabilities. This leader oversees portfolio planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, prioritization, and delivery.

The Director leads product and capability leaders advancing data protection across structured and unstructured environments and serves as a key connection between business stakeholders and technical teams. The role requires sufficient domain knowledge to establish strategy, guide priorities, communicate requirements, manage dependencies, and drive execution through others.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field

• 10 or more years of progressive experience in information security, technology, program delivery, product management, or related discipline

• Five or more years of people leadership experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience leading an enterprise security, technology, or data protection portfolio involving multiple capabilities and workstreams.

• Proven ability to translate strategy and business requirements into prioritized roadmaps, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams and explain complex topics in clear business terms.

• Experience leading product, capability, program, or delivery leaders and accomplishing work through others.

• Working knowledge of enterprise data security capabilities, including: Data Loss Prevention; Data Access Governance; Data Security Posture Management; Data Discovery and Classification; Data Minimization; Encryption and Cryptographic Controls; Tokenization; Database Activity Monitoring; and Cloud Data Security Controls.

• Understanding of structured and unstructured data protection across on-premises and cloud environments.

• Experience managing portfolio priorities, dependencies, delivery risks, resource constraints, governance, and operational readiness in partnership with engineering and technical teams.

• Knowledge of relevant cybersecurity, risk, regulatory, and privacy frameworks; familiarity with leading data security platforms; and relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, PMP, or equivalent credentials.

Location Expectation

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $143,905.00 - $169,300.00
