Job Description:

As an
Information Security Analyst, you will support Security Operations Center (SOC) activities by monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats across enterprise environments. This role requires expertise in security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management to help maintain a strong security posture and protect critical systems and data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security tools to identify potential threats and suspicious activities.
• Investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents, including malware, phishing, and unauthorized access attempts.
• Triage and prioritize alerts generated by SIEM, EDR, and other security monitoring platforms.
• Conduct threat hunting activities using threat intelligence and security analytics.
• Analyze logs from firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoints, and other security systems to identify anomalies.
• Manage and support security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, PKI, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Document security incidents, investigations, findings, and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve security-related issues.
• Support compliance, audit, and security governance requirements through accurate reporting and documentation.
• Recommend and implement improvements to detection, response, monitoring, and security operations processes.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity, SOC, or information security role.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, operating systems, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and antivirus solutions.
• Experience in security incident detection, investigation, response, and remediation.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence, threat hunting, attack techniques, and cyber threat landscapes.
• Ability to analyze security logs, identify patterns, and investigate anomalies.
• Experience with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of computer forensics fundamentals and security investigation methodologies.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GSEC, or equivalent are preferred, along with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
