Job summary

GDIT in Virginia Beach is seeking an Information Security Analyst Principal to strengthen enterprise cybersecurity operations, lead vulnerability management, and ensure secure, compliant systems across hybrid environments.

You will work with engineering, cloud, network, and cybersecurity teams; leverage Tenable Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Azure IL5/IL6 to detect threats and respond to incidents while adhering to RMF and NIST 800-53.

Qualifications

• Education: Security+, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

• Technical skills: Tenable Security Center, Linux/Red Hat administration, DISA STIGs, NSA guidelines, DoD compliance frameworks, Azure IL5/IL6, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, POA&M management, vulnerability analysis, incident response familiarity

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise vulnerability management operations, including deployment, configuration, and optimization of Tenable Security Center across Linux/Red Hat environments to ensure the customer maintains a secure posture aligned with DISA STIGs, NSA guidelines, and DoD requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, cloud, network, cybersecurity operations, and leadership teams to ensure secure configurations, rapid mitigation of vulnerabilities, and effective POA&M management across on-prem and Azure IL5/IL6 environments.
• Drive continuous improvement by analyzing vulnerability data, developing actionable reporting, tuning detection rules, resolving scanner and integration challenges, and enhancing endpoint security and threat-detection fidelity.
• Utilize tools such as Tenable Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Azure IL5/IL6 services, Linux/Red Hat administration, and enterprise security monitoring solutions to strengthen the customer’s cyber defense capabilities.

• Security clearance level: TS/SCI
• US citizenship required
• Role requirements: Ability to work independently as a subject‑matter expert while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams; familiarity with RMF and NIST 800‑53 frameworks; experience supporting federal or DoD cybersecurity environments

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
