Job summary

Jobtailor in Arlington, MA is seeking a dedicated Information Security Analyst to monitor events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and malware prevention tools; investigate security incidents; and coordinate remediation with IT and operations.

You will analyze threats, maintain case records, document processes, and contribute to continuous improvement of security controls. The role requires strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and GIAC certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in information security or IT with emphasis on incident response.
• GMAC? GIAC certification is a plus (certifications preferred).
• Experience with SIEM systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor events and alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS tools, malware prevention platforms, system logs, and other sources
• Investigate security events and remediate or escape them

Job description

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of related post-secondary education and/or experience in Information Security or Information Technology
• Subject matter expertise in one or multiple areas such as Windows, UNIX, firewalls, networking, intrusion detection, threat detection/analysis, or information risk management preferred
• Experience with SIEM systems is a plus
• GIAC certification(s) is a plus
• Experience working in a Security Operations Center environment is a plus
• Ability to be a self-starter with initiative and drive for continuous improvement
• Ability to be a team-oriented individual who works well with others and places a premium on the group’s success
• Advanced understanding of information security principles, controls, and technologies
• Demonstrated strong organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent investigative and problem-solving skills
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with malware analysis, computer forensics, cyber incident response, network intrusion detection, network traffic and packet analysis, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, compliance, audit, or cyber threat intelligence
