Job summary

Tech Valley Talent is seeking a Information Security AI Engineer for a remote, 12‑month engagement starting January 2027. The role focuses on aligning security monitoring with NIST AI RMF and NYS ITS policies, and protecting against AI-related threats across cloud platforms and SIEM integrations.

Responsibilities include auditing security controls for AI, incident response, identity management, and collaboration with IT and governance teams to ensure compliance and robust security architectures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in cyber security, information assurance, or IT, or a BA with 1+ year security experience.
• Understanding of API-based access control and integration patterns.
• Familiar with security certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, OSCP, CEH, Security+).

Responsibilities

• Align security monitoring and risk tracking with frameworks like the NIST AI RMF and NYS ITS Acceptable Use of AI technology.
• Protect against model misuse, prompt injection, model evasion, data poisoning, and unauthorized access.
• Integrate AI security tools with SIEM and cloud platforms to detect and triage anomalies.
• Work with Data Governance, IT, and business teams to validate security controls for AI.
• Manage security operations tasks related to AI, identity and access management, including incident response.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
• Assess current applications and architecture to ensure implementations align with security strategies and standards.
• Other duties as assigned contributing to the Information Security team's key outcomes.

DURATION: 12 Months

START: JANUARY 2027

40 HOUR WORK WEEK

Cloud first initiatives and new IT projects including O365, Egnyte, and AI result in a resource

gap to meet NYS ITS Policy.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in cyber security, information assurance, or information technology. Minimum of 3 year of dedicated security experience. OR Bachelor’s degree and 1 years of experience
• Understanding in application integration patterns and API based access control.
• Proven knowledge of security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, GPEN, GWAPT, GCIH, GIAC certifications, OSCP, CEH, Security+). Understanding of role?based access control.

Day-to-Day tasks

• Align security monitoring and risk tracking with frameworks like the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and NYS ITS Acceptable Use of AI technology.
• Protect against model misuse, prompt injection, model evasion, data poisoning, and unauthorized access.
• Integrate AI security tools with our SIEM and cloud platforms to detect and triage anomalies.
• Work with Data Governance, IT, and business teams to validate security controls for AI.
• Manage security operations tasks related to AI, identity and access management, including incident response recommended solutions.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
