Nightwing is seeking an Information Review and Release Analyst in Herndon, VA to process and research information release requests per EO 13526, FOIA and Privacy Act guidelines. The role requires handling case documentation from receipt to final release decisions, collaborating across agencies, and ensuring timely, accurate results.

The candidate must have 11+ years of relevant experience or equivalent analytic background, plus an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.

Nightwing seeks a full-time Information Review and Release Analyst in the Herndon, VA area in support of the Intelligence Community. The position requires an individual to review and thoroughly research requests for the release of information in accordance with one or more of the following: Executive Order (EO) 13526, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and/or Privacy Act (PA). These requests are submitted directly to the IC component by the general public, Presidential Libraries, or received upon referral or coordination from other government agencies. The person in this position serves as an analyst and case manager; from the receipt of the initial request letter, to creating case documentation and researching prior requests. They also review information and make recommendations which includes collaborating with other government agency (OGA) counterparts, prior to the final consolidation of IC component element response and release decisions back to the requester. The candidate must be able to successfully apply critical-thinking skills when evaluating each unique case, and when utilize a broad array of customer systems and tools in order to accurately inform the review and release process. Due to the complexity of most requests, time management and the ability to collaborate with other team members is a must. The selected candidate must be able to consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work, and be willing to perform ad hoc duties as needed. Candidates are able to explore their creative side for identifying process improvement ideas.

Typical Duties

• Reviews & redacts certain equities within classified documents, records and files in accordance with established standard operating procedures, workflows and policies.
• Submits requests to the scanning team to scan any documents needed for research.
• Submits requests to the search team to conduct the initial search for data relevant to the case.
• Collaborates with supervisory client POCs to recommend and implement changes that improve processes, workflows and standard operating procedures.
• Works an eight-hour shift between 6:00AM -6:00PM, Monday-Friday.
• Infrequently provides surge support outside of normal office hours for short-fused emergent requests.

Mandatory Skills

• Must have a minimum of 11+ years of experience with our client, ideally within multiple directorates/divisions. Such candidates will have an expert understanding of the equities that need to be protected, even if they do not have redaction experience. The best candidates, however, will have at least six years of experience as declassification review analyst for our client.
• We will also consider candidates with 11 or more years of experience in a position requiring analytic skills (such as intelligence analysts, foreign disclosure officers, CD/CI/CT analysts, etc.) AND a demonstrated familiarity with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Executive Order Mandatory Declassification Review (EOMDR) programs and Executive Order (EO) 13526 directive

• Must possess an active TS//SCI clearance with Poly on day one of employment.

Education Requirements

TS/SCI with polygraph Required Day 1

A Bachelors' degree in any liberal arts, scientific or technical discipline will be considered equivalent to three (3) years of relevant experience. A Master' degree is equivalent to an additional (2) years of experience.

Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($77,000-$163,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
