Job summary

UnityTec seeks an Information Assurance (IA) Security Engineer to deliver security engineering and IA analysis across the system lifecycle. You will resolve IA challenges, analyze requirements, and optimize security workflows for mission-critical systems.

Based in the Columbus, OH area with travel, you will contribute to risk reduction and ensure compliance across designs, development, testing, and integration efforts. Aims for DoD 8570/8140 IAT III certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT or IA-related roles with security emphasis.
• Experience creating/maintaining IA signatures and rules (SNORT).
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT level III certifications preferred; U.S. citizenship required.

Job Overview

We are seeking an Information Assurance (IA) Security Engineer to join our team. You will deliver comprehensive security engineering and analytical support to resolve specialized information assurance (IA) challenges throughout the system lifecycle. By integrating systematic methodologies and analyzing stringent security requirements, you will optimize workflows and secure information systems from initial planning through final integration and testing. You will be located in Columbus, OH. This position will require travel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Information Assurance (IA) Problem Resolution: Executing targeted project tasks to systematically resolve complex, total-system technology challenges directly tied to specialized IA requirements.
• Security Engineering & Lifecycle Support: Providing dedicated security engineering expertise across all phases of information system development, encompassing planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and final system integration.
• Security Requirements Analysis: Rigorously evaluating and translating complex information security requirements to ensure system compliance and a robust defensive posture.
• Systems Integration & Workflow Optimization: Applying methodical, analytical approaches to integrate electronic processes, streamline organizational planning, and resolve operational or workflow inefficiencies within system architectures.

Required Qualifications:

• Certified Trellix IPS manager -OR- certifiedCheck Point IPS Blade.
• A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant IT experience.
• A minimum of four (4) years of experience creating customized signatures using SNORT.
• Highly proficient in Cyber Defense Infrastructure -AND- Network Operations Specialist

Preferred Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study.
• Relevant certification meeting DOD 8570/8140 IAT level III.
• Relevant certification meeting DOD 8570/8140 CND-IS.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must possess a DoD current Secret clearance.
