Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Systems Engineer Sr Principal to support Government Infoblox DDI services at Annapolis Junction, MD, with flexibility for Sterling, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO. You will diagnose incidents, maintain platforms, and drive a strategic DDI migration.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, DoD 8570 IAT II, and CDCA certification, plus extensive DNS/DHCP/IPAM experience. Strong collaboration and Python/API skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (examples: Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+).
• CDCA certified.
• Bachelor’s degree or 12+ years IT experience in lieu of a degree.
• Extensive recent experience configuring and managing DNS in a large enterprise.
• Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IPAM, BIND, and NTP.
• Understanding of storage, virtualization, networking, and data center operations.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex cross-system issues, document root cause, and develop remediations.
• Experience with Python and APIs.
• Self-driven, able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across diverse technical teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage risks within the DDI platform.

As an Infoblox Systems Engineer supporting the Government, you will be trusted to provide Enterprise Infoblox DDI and related services to the Government Agency’s internal/external partners and clients with a focus on stability and performance.

HOW A INFOBLOX SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Investigating and diagnosing incidents and problems relating to DDI (Infoblox DNS, DHCP, IPAM) and related services
• Ensuring the platforms and services are managed and maintained
• Helping identify and manage risks within the DDI platform
• Working with the Government lead and other service areas’ Architecture, Engineering & Operations leads and technical specialists, as well as professional services staff from vendors to implement the plan to deliver a strategic DDI platform and migrate all in-scope services from existing platforms
• Ensuring that system improvements and changes are implemented and monitoring effects of modifications
• Defining the capacity and performance standards, metrics and thresholds and helping build the instrumentation to effectively manage the environment

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
• Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (e.g. Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, etc.)
• Core DDI Config and Admin (CDCA) certified
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, or 12+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree
• Extensive recent experience configuring and managing DNS in a large enterprise.
• Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IPAM, BIND, and NTP
• Understanding of broader technology domains such as storage, virtualization, networking, and data center operations
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex cross-system issues, document root cause, and develop remediations
• Experience with Python and APIs
• Self-driven, able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across diverse technical teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
