Essential Functions
  • Interviews and screens applicants to determine their social service needs.
  • Researches publications and databases for information on social service programs and refers clients to appropriate social service resources.
  • Records and enters client data into computer database.
Examples of Work (Under General Supervision)
  • Operates a computer to enter, code, store and edit data and information, and prepares reports.
  • Collects and analyzes information and prepares and submits reports.
  • Interviews and screens applicants for financial assistance as assigned.
  • Researches professional publications and materials to obtain information on social service programs and available community social services.
  • Assists in the development and dissemination of information and materials regarding programs and procedures.
  • Provides the public with information concerning available social service programs and refers clients to community social service agencies.
  • Participates in the child care and social service activities of a residential program.
  • Assists individuals or groups in dealing with problems.
  • Completes and processes forms, documents and correspondence.
  • Attends meetings and seminars to keep current on social service programs and services available.
  • Performs related work.
Physical Requirement & Working Conditions

Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Science, Social Work, or a related field.
Equivalency
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Two years of social service program experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

A new contract has been negotiated for this union. Once implemented into our HCM system, the new pay rate will be $18.56 hourly. Once deployed, your new pay rate will automatically be adjusted to the new pay rate and any retro amounts will be paid.
