Job summary

UnityPoint Clinic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is seeking an Infectious Disease Advanced Practitioner to join our physician-led team. The role includes inpatient and outpatient coverage with a mix of hospital and clinic patients, and collaboration with Infectious Disease physicians.

We require NP or PA credentials, Board Certification, an Iowa medical license, and eligibility to work in the United States. Competitive salary with incentive package and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Provider experience preferred.
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant credential required.
• Board Certified and licensed to practice in Iowa.
• Authority to prescribe medications in AP field.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Infectious Disease Advanced Practitioner will work with Infectious Disease Physician.
• Provide care for inpatient and outpatient clinics across St. Luke’s and Mercy hospitals.
• Manage medications for bacterial infections, HIV, TB and travel vaccines.
• Collaborate with the care team to improve patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Established specialty practice serving the Cedar Rapids community
• Full-time position
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

• Monday – Friday; required one weekend per month of call
• Practice is a mix of inpatient and outpatient clinic patients, covering both St. Luke’s and Mercy hospitals
• Specialty skills: Medication management, bacterial infections (staph, MSSA), HIV, travel related vaccines, TB
• Work in collaboration with the Infectious Disease Physician
• Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Provider experience preferred
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board Certified
• Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
• Eligible to work in the United States
