Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience.
• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Certification in Infection Control (CBIC) or Registered Nurse credentialed by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
• CIC preferred, motivated, works well with others including c-suite and front line staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate infections to determine sources and control.
• Review regulations and guidelines from governmental agencies and professional organizations.
• Collaborate on educational programs and tools related to infection prevention, control, and epidemiology.
• Report infection surveillance and control information to local, state, and federal public health authorities as required by law.
• Participate in studies to identify epidemics or evaluate new products or care delivery methods.
