Job summary

Evergreen Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Stafford Springs, CT is seeking an Infection Preventionist to develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs across the facility.

You will serve as a practitioner, educator, and facilitator for staff, ensuring a safe environment and compliance with state and federal regulations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Valid state nursing license
• Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology or microbiology
• Infection Control and Prevention Certification is required
• Experience in infection prevention in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Oversee infection control and prevention program for residents and staff
• Review, update and direct the implementation of infection control policies and procedures
• Oversee the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, the Employee Health Program and Universal Influenza Program
• Serve as a member of the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee
• Ensure compliance to new hire screening, documentation and immunization reporting per regulations
• Perform rounds to identify hazards, monitor precautions and educate staff
• Develop and deliver staff education programs and analyze surveillance trends
• Maintain records and reporting as required by regulations
