Ciena Healthcare seeks an Infection Prevention Nurse to design systems and approve actions to prevent infections among residents and staff. The role focuses on surveillance, policy development, and ongoing education within a skilled nursing setting in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Monitor healthcare-associated infections.
• Assess infection prevention problems and make recommendations for corrective action.
• Initiate, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures.
• Conduct outbreak investigation and initiate control measures; report communicable diseases as required by law.
• Provide educational offerings for orientation and ongoing inservices.
• Consult with department heads and physicians to improve care.
• Initiate follow-up on employee/resident exposures to communicable diseases.
