Job summary

Fairview Riverside University Hospital in Minneapolis is seeking an Infection Preventionist to lead the infection prevention program, develop and monitor standards, and collaborate across teams to improve patient care quality and safety. This is a full-time, onsite role (1.0 FTE) with no weekends and rotating remote call responsibilities for virtual consults.

The position requires a B.S./B.A. in a healthcare field, CIC certification, and experience in infection prevention.

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in a health care related field.
• 1 year in an infection prevention role or related clinical experience.
• Current Infection Control certification (CIC) within 3 Yrs.

Responsibilities

• Designs and directs the Infection Control Program to identify, prevent and control healthcare associated infections and infectious risks.
• Develops reviews and revises Infection Prevention policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with leadership to implement and monitor compliance with policies.
• Analyzes and reports surveillance findings, patterns and trends to leadership.
• Leads outbreak management plan at assigned site.
• Participates in the Infection Control (IC) Committees, as assigned.
