Job summary

Under general supervision, develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates the hospital-wide Infection Control and Employee Health Programs.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing, Microbiology or Public Health.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three to five years hospital or medical office infection control experience required. Previous experience program planning and coordination preferred.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland preferred.
• Knowledge of asepsis, pathology-paraphysiology and epidemiology required.
• Knowledge of medical and psychosocial needs of neonates, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics required.
• Knowledge of hospital employee health programs required.
• Demonstrated ability to develop guidelines for program implementation.
• Ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of patients and confidentiality of health system and departmental documents required.
• Knowledge of hospital infection control practices required.
