Job summary

Cherry County Hospital in Valentine, NE seeks an Infection Prevention & Safety Officer to lead hospital-wide infection prevention, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness programs. You will partner with leadership and clinical teams to foster a culture of safety and ensure CMS, CDC, OSHA, and accreditation standards are met.

Qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field and at least two years in healthcare safety or infection prevention; CIC/CHSP/CEPS

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare, public health, safety or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare safety, infection prevention, quality or risk management.
• Certifications CIC/CHSP/CEPS or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and workplace safety initiatives.
• Coordinate the hospital's Emergency Preparedness Program.
• Monitor CMS, CDC, OSHA and accreditation standards.
• Conduct safety rounds, infection surveillance, and staff education.
• Collaborate with leadership and clinical departments to promote a culture of safety.

Cherry County Hospital is seeking a dedicated Infection Prevention & Safety Officer to lead our hospital-wide infection prevention, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness programs. • Health and safety-related certification (e.g., CIC, CHSP, CEPS, or other relevant credential) preferred.
