Job summary

Qualifications
- English language proficiency is required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f)
- Graduate of an approved nursing program or bridge program with licensure
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted nursing license in U.S. state/territory
- Ability to obtain State license and convert to permanent appointment after bridge program completion
- Experience or credentialing in infection prevention or public health is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead HAI and infection-risk surveillance using NHSN or equivalent
- Identify and respond to reportable organisms from microbiology reports
- Conduct outbreak and cluster investigations with case definitions and line listings
- Ensure timely isolation and appropriate precautions and use of PPE
- Perform daily rounds with care teams to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Monitor and submit infection-prevention data to required systems and maintain data integrity
- Provide expert consultation on infection precautions and transmission prevention
- Apply CDC/CDC-like guidelines to evaluate and improve infection-prevention practices
