Job summary

MercyOne is seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist to support the implementation of evidence-based practices reducing healthcare-associated infections. You will engage clinical teams, perform surveillance, and provide education and coaching to facilitate quality improvement initiatives.

You will compile and present surveillance data to the Infection Control Committee, collaborate with Employee Health, and help implement corrective actions to protect patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with infection prevention practices and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with NHSN/NDNQI reporting or similar surveillance systems may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of evidence-based infection prevention practices.
• Perform surveillance and collaborate with clinicians for education and coaching.
• Collect, analyze, and report infection data to relevant committees and stakeholders.
