Job summary

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, is seeking an Infection Prevention Program Manager to lead the facility-wide infection prevention and control program under the Director of Quality and Patient Safety.

You will develop and evaluate annual plans, ensure regulatory compliance, educate physicians on infection causes, supervise surveillance, and oversee cleaning and disinfection across the operating group, contributing to patient and staff safety.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, implements, administers, and evaluates the Annual Infection Prevention Plan and programs for entity.
  • Ensures regulatory requirements are complied with including reporting of infections and other data.
  • Educates physicians on system-based causes for infections and collaborates with medical staff on prevention.
  • Responsible for the entity infection prevention/surveillance program across facilities.
  • Develops and maintains systems for reporting, investigating, and controlling infections.
  • Oversees equipment and environmental cleaning and disinfection throughout the group.

Job description

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Infection Prevention Program Manager, you will lead the collaborative approach and implementation of an entity-specific, facility-wide infection prevention and control program. Every day you will work under the direction of the entity Director of Quality and Patient Safety Officer, ensuring all aspects of the program are effectively implemented to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors. To be successful in this role, you will possess expertise in infection prevention and control, strong program management skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with leadership to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.

  • Plans, develops, implements, administers, and evaluates the Annual Infection Prevention Plan and programs for entity.
  • Ensures all regulatory requirements are continually complied with including the public reporting of hospital acquired infections, reportable diseases, and other data as requested.
  • Educates physicians and other practitioners on the system-based causes for infections, collaborates with medical staff in the review of hospital acquired infections, identifies and engages with physician champions, and develops and implements standardized yet flexible evidence-based programs that support effective infection prevention and control strategies.
  • Responsible for the entity infection prevention/surveillance program, which may include outpatient and/or ambulatory facilities or entities, in accordance with the hospital license.
  • Develops and maintains systems for identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections/communicable diseases and the maintenance of a database of infections and communicable diseases.
  • Provides strict and continuous oversight on equipment and environmental cleaning, as well as low and high level disinfection and sterilization processes throughout the operating group.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Knowledge of Adult learning concepts.

  • Knowledge in epidemiological principles.
  • Bachelor in Healthcare related field required
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certified Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) –required within 6 months of eligibility for certification (Colorado State Requirement)
Preferred
  • Five (5) years of clinical or related experience
