Job summary

Salinas Valley Health is seeking an Infection Prevention Specialist to lead surveillance and reporting of hospital-acquired infections. You will educate staff and help develop policies to ensure strict infection control standards.

Under supervision of the Manager, Infection Prevention, a Bachelor’s degree with RN licensure preferred and 3+ years in infection control are desired, with emphasis on regulatory compliance and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum three years in Infection Control / Epidemiology.
• Knowledge of regulatory initiatives and patient safety goals.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance, analysis and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
• Data collection for mandatory reporting (CDPH/CMS) and NHSN.
• Education of staff on infection prevention practices.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and policy development.
• Communicate findings to leadership and health departments.
