Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Current RN license in the State of Ohio and BLS certification.
• Preferred CIC certification within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing surveillance and analysis of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) using established methodologies and EHR tools.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention practices, including PPE use, hand hygiene, and isolation protocols.
• Investigate suspected outbreaks of infection, identify sources, and implement control measures to prevent further transmission.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess and mitigate infection risks related to construction, renovation, and environmental factors.
• Prepare and submit required infection control reports to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct audits and rounds to monitor compliance with infection prevention standards and recommend corrective actions.
