Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position for an Infection Control Nurse based in Centerville, SD. The Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for implementing and monitoring infection prevention and control protocols, conducting staff training on best practices, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing infection surveillance, data collection, analyzing infection trends, and developing interventions to mitigate infection risks. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with the healthcare team to promote a safe environment for staff and residents. This would be a hybrid role as Infection Control with Charge Nurse duties. There are 8 hours required for Infection Control per week.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Infection Control measures, policies, and compliance
• Skilled in Nursing practices tailored to infection management
• Basic understanding of Medicine and Infectious Diseases principles
• Knowledgeable in identifying, preventing, and managing Infection outbreaks
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) is preferred but can be trained
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation facilities is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of emergency care and advanced nursing procedures
• Strong multitasking and decision‑making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
