Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Infantry Soldiers who will play a critical role in ground operations, reconnaissance, and coordination of troop movements. You will train to lead teams in combat and respond to natural disasters, with pay earned during drill weekends and opportunities for tuition assistance.

Training includes 14 weeks of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), with classroom and field components to build discipline and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a high school junior or hold a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between ages 17 and 35 and able to pass a physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations.
• Operate weapon systems under various conditions and engage targets with night vision sights.
• Operate and maintain communications equipment.
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and combat missions.
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents.
• Aid in mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry.
• Use and store combat weapons, including rifles and machine guns.
