Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks Infantry Soldiers to form the backbone of domestic and mission-based operations. You will train to reconnaissance, firearm, and team-based tactics, serving during drills and deployments as part of a disciplined unit.

Training spans Basic and Advanced Individual Training with pay and access to tuition assistance. You’ll gain leadership, resilience, and teamwork skills while contributing to national defense and community response.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard (as required)
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details)

Responsibilities

• Assist in reconnaissance operations
• Employ, fire, and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines
• Operate weapon systems under various conditions, including night vision sights
• Operate and maintain communications equipment
• Perform as a member of a fire team during training and combat missions
• Process prisoners of war and captured documents
• Aid in the mobilization of vehicles, troops, and weaponry
• Use, maintain, and store combat weapons (e.g., rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines, etc.)
