Job summary

Celebree Schools in Maryland is seeking an early childhood educator to manage classrooms in compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company standards. You will create age-appropriate lesson plans, maintain engaging displays, and communicate with parents regularly.

The role requires an AA degree in Early Childhood Education or higher (preferred), plus substantial clock-hour training in child development and infant/toddler education. MD credential Level 5 is valued.

Qualifications

• AA degree in Early Childhood Education or higher preferred.
• 90 clock hrs in Child Development and Curriculum Planning required.
• 45 clock hrs Infant/Toddler Training required.
• 90 clock hrs Infant/Toddler Child Development and Curriculum required.
• MD state credential Level 5 required or preferred.
• 9 clock hrs training in communicating with staff, parents and the public if no college coursework.

Responsibilities

• Manages classroom ensuring compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Maintains attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative Parent Board updated regularly.
• Creates and implements thorough, timely lesson plans that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with weekly themes and Celebree's curriculum; manages transitions.
• Assists and supervises children during activities; counsels children using positive discipline techniques.
• Ensures appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom are maintained.
• Completes classroom paperwork (Sunshine Reports, accident reports, attendance records).
• Communicates effectively with parents, greeting by name and providing regular updates on their child's development.
• Identifies opportunities and problems in the classroom and school and works with staff to resolve.

Job Duties:

• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positivefeedback, and providing regular updates on their child's development and classroom happenings.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom and school and works with the assistant teacher and/or school director to resolve.

Education/Experience

90 clock hrs in Child Development and Curriculum Planning plus 45 clock hrs of

Infant/Toddler Training OR 90 clock hrs Infant/

Toddler Child Development and Curriculum. AA degree (or college credit equivalent) in

Early Childhood Education or

higher is preferred. Additionally, 9 clock hrs of training in communicating with staff, parents,

and the public is also required if

candidate has had no college coursework at all.

MD state credential Level 5
