Job summary

LeafSpring Schools is seeking an experienced Infant Teacher to lead a nurturing, high-quality preschool classroom and guide young children through hands-on learning and structured routines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center.
  • Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices.
  • Effective communication skills with children, families, and co-workers.
  • A love for young children and a commitment to their growth and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a classroom that promotes preschool readiness, emotional intelligence, and social skill development—all while mentoring assistant teachers and working closely with families.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and individualized instruction.
  • Lead circle time, group activities, learning centers, and classroom transitions.
  • Foster early academic skills including pre-literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and language development.
  • Utilize observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment aligned with Cognia standards.
  • Supervise and guide Co-Teachers, modeling effective teaching strategies and classroom routines.
  • Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
  • Implement positive behavior guidance and social‑emotional learning strategies.
  • Maintain open communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences.
  • Support and attend family engagement events, parent education sessions, and school celebrations.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and fellow teachers to ensure alignment with school goals and state licensing standards.

Key Responsibilities
