  • Ability to interact positively and respectfully with children, parents, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Verification and transcripts of past experiences and education are required

Responsibilities

  • Provide care and supervision to children by meeting their individual needs, responding promptly to their requests, and assisting them in their endeavors as appropriate.
  • Engage in regular cleaning, washing, and disinfecting of toys to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Monitor children’s development and behavior, inform parents and colleagues of concerns, and collaborate on intervention plans if necessary.
  • Attend parent meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions to stay informed and learn from colleagues.

Job Goals

To provide high-quality care and supervision to infants and toddlers in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment.


To assist in designing and implementing a comprehensive program of activities that meet the individual needs of each child and support their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.


Performance Responsibilities within Classroom

Ensure a safe and sanitary classroom by maintaining cleanliness, organizing toys, and keeping the changing area clutter-free and clean.


Engage in regular cleaning, washing, and disinfecting of toys (especially mouthed toys) to maintain a hygienic environment.


Clean up after meals and snacks to keep the classroom tidy.


Provide care and supervision to children by meeting their individual needs, responding promptly to their requests, and assisting them in their endeavors as appropriate.


Foster the child\'s developmental process by avoiding providing too much help and instead allowing for trial and error in the child\'s explorations.


Monitor children\'s development and behavior, make appropriate observations to inform parents and colleagues of any concerns, and collaborate with colleagues to design intervention plans if necessary.


Notify the Site Director immediately if unable to attend work due to illness.


Program

Design and implement a comprehensive program of activities that meets the individual needs of each child, fosters their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, and supports their interests and strengths.


Ensure that the program of activities is developmentally appropriate and follows the guidelines for early childhood education.


Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that the program of activities is comprehensive and addresses all aspects of children\'s development.


Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends in early childhood education.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
