Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, IA is seeking a compassionate Childcare Teacher to create a safe, nurturing environment for children from 6 weeks to 6 years old, supporting development through play-based activities and collaboration with families.

This full-time role is 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 6 PM, with starting pay around $15 per hour and increases based on experience and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to meet health and safety requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and be mobile.
• Ability to obtain certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Effective communication in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Provide routine care for infants and children.
• Maintain safe environment and supervise children.
• Support clean, organized environment using PBIS strategies.
• Deliver customer service to families and complete documentation.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings.
