Job summary

The Goddard School in Waxhaw, NC is seeking qualified Infant Lead Teachers for a 5-star program. You will supervise classrooms, plan and deliver engaging activities, and collaborate with fellow teachers to support young learners aged six weeks to 12 months.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom setting.
• Experience working with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classroom and Co-lead all classroom activities throughout the day.
• Observe children’s interests and develop engaging curriculum with co-teachers.
• Develop weekly lesson plans with Curriculum Coordinator.
• Provide a sense of accomplishment through child-centered activities.
• Communicate with parents daily about their children’s progress via apps and discussions.
• Collaborate with other childcare professionals to grow professionally.

The Goddard School located at 1528 Providence Road S Waxhaw, North Carolina has been open for 13 years and has 170 children under our care. We are the premier preschool for children from six weeks to six years old and are looking to add qualified Infant and Toddler Lead teachers to our team! Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in a classroom setting
• At least 1 year of experience working with infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months old
• Develops relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and faculty members; Works cooperatively alongside all co-teachers and school resource teachers
• Works productively without supervision within established organizational policies and procedures
• Is highly motivated and takes direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Is able to complete weekly lesson plans to be carried out within the classroom
• Is able to follow Goddard and state licensing guidelines to ensure the health, safety and education of all children
• Is dependable, reliable and adaptable and enjoys working in teams
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
• Qualifying letter from NC DCDEE (We will help you apply if you do not already have one!)

At The Goddard School, our teachers are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. Teachers will plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment and work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.
