About the Organization

Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grew to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state.

Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long-term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non-residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.

Description

Our center is looking for a DEPENDABLE, CARING, PATIENT and DEVOTED teacher. This time in a child's life is very important and they need consistency, love, support and positive guidance to build their social, cognitive, physical and language skills. An employee in this position plan and implement weekly lessons and carry out daily routines and activities, monitor and supervise children, provide a nurturing and safe learning environment, meet the needs of each individual child.

Position Requirements

• Education: REQUIRED - AAS Degree in Early Childhood OR an AAS degree in any field with at least 12 semesterhours in early childhood.
• Experience: 2 years working with young children. Background in infant care.
• Criminal Check: Must have DCDEE Criminal Check Qualification Letter
• SIDS: Must be current or completed within 4 months of hire.
• Medical Report/TB Skin Test: must complete a phsycal with the DCDEE form and a TB skin assessment or test prior to beginning work. Both must be completed by a physician.
