The Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia in Fairfax, VA seeks an Educator to monitor and support the development and learning of young children. You will communicate progress to parents and directors, uphold safety standards, and collaborate with colleagues to support Jewish values in programming.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and education related to child care; preferred are a bachelor’s degree or CDA and CPR/First Aid readiness.

The Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia (Pozez JCC), located in Fairfax, Virginia, is a nonprofit, social service organization that builds community and enriches lives. About the role:

As an Educator, you will use your knowledge of child development, curriculum, Judaism, and/or the community. You are responsible for monitoring the development and learning of the children, and for communicating this information to parents and directors.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma


• Education relating to care for children under the age of 10


• Ability to relate to young children and adults


• Ability to carry out assigned tasks, accepting supervision and acting independently as needed


• Judaic knowledge or willingness to learn


• Ability to recognize safety hazards and protect children from harm


• Meet background check & health requirements

• Child CPR & First Aid certification willingness to acquire


• Strong communication skills: oral, reading, writing


• Strong organizational skills


• Working knowledge of the growth and development of young children and ability to utilize this information in the classroom

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in a child related field from an accredited college or university or CDA


• One year or more of programmatic experience in the group setting of children
