Job description

Our world is transforming, and PTC is leading the way. Our software brings the physical and digital worlds together, enabling companies to improve operations, create better products, and empower people in all aspects of their business.

Our people make all the difference in our success. Today, we are a global team of nearly 7,000 and our main objective is to create opportunities for our team members to explore, learn, and grow - all while seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating the differences that make us who we are and the work we do possible.

Role Summary

The Industry Principal (IP) is a highly visible, strategic role responsible for shaping PTC's growth and market strategy within the Electronics & High-Tech vertical. Acting as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, the IA leverages deep industry expertise, executive engagement, and market insight to drive early-stage pipeline creation, strategic account expansion, and long-term growth.

This role partners closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Partners, Services, and executive leadership to align PTC's solutions and go-to-market strategy with evolving industry priorities.

The ideal candidate has firsthand experience within the Electronics & High-Tech industry-including semiconductor, industrial electronics, networking, telecommunications, consumer electronics, or high-tech manufacturing-and understands how increasingly complex hardware and software products are developed and brought to market. Experience in product development, engineering, manufacturing, software development, systems engineering, PLM, digital engineering, or supply chain transformation is highly valued. Candidates may come from industry, strategic consulting, or Global Systems Integrators and possess the executive credibility to engage engineering and business leaders as a trusted advisor.

The Industry Principal helps define scalable industry go-to-market strategies, influences solution direction, strengthens executive relationships, and positions PTC as a strategic industry leader. Success in this role is measured by the ability to shape executive conversations, create early-stage opportunities, influence strategic account direction, and accelerate long-term pipeline growth-not simply support active sales pursuits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted industry advisor to customers, sales teams, and executive leadership.
  • Engage C-level stakeholders to identify business challenges, transformation priorities, and strategic opportunities.
  • Drive early-stage pipeline creation and strategic account engagement across priority accounts.
  • Develop scalable industry go-to-market plays, messaging, and executive engagement strategies.
  • Partner with account teams on strategic account planning, stakeholder mapping, and opportunity progression.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Services, and Partners to align industry priorities and influence roadmap direction.
  • Build strategic relationships with partners and Global Systems Integrators (GSIs) to drive aligned go-to-market execution and customer outcomes.
  • Represent PTC at customer meetings, executive briefings, conferences, and industry events to elevate thought leadership and market awareness.
  • Provide industry insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to strengthen solution positioning and strategy.
  • Mentor and enable GTM teams on industry trends, business value messaging, and executive engagement.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience within the Electronics & High-Tech industry in leadership, consulting, engineering, product development, manufacturing, digital transformation, or enterprise software, with the credibility to engage executive stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
  • Knowledge of PTC's solution portfolio and experience applying digital transformation technologies within the industry preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Electronics & High-Tech trends, including software-defined products, semiconductor supply chains, digital engineering, AI-enabled product development, model-based systems engineering, digital thread, cybersecurity, and manufacturing transformation.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence executive and C-level stakeholders.
  • Proven experience supporting complex enterprise sales cycles and strategic account growth.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into strategic technology and transformation discussions.
  • Established network of executive relationships across Electronics & High-Tech manufacturers, strategic partners, consulting organizations, and industry associations.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% for customer and industry engagement.
